Ini penjelasan Direktur P3G UNM DR. Abdullah Pandang, M.Pd soal PLPG 2016

Sehubungan dengan pelaksanaan sertifikasi guru tahun 2016, ada baiknya guru memahami beberapa informasi dan aturan baru sebagai berikut:
1) Menurut catatan Ditjen GTK total guru tetap (PNS dan GTY) yang belum memiliki sertifikat pendidik sekitar 500 ribu. Semua guru ini diagendakan untuk disertifikasi dengan pola PLPG dalam 4 (empat) tahun antara 2016 – 2019.
2) Guru TMT sebelum 2006 akan jadi prioritas untuk didahulukan menjadi peserta. Sementara guru TMT 2006 ke atas ditentukan berdasarkan skor UKG, minimal 55 dengan prioritas skor UKG tertinggi.
3) Kuota peserta PLPG tahun 2016 sebanyak 69.259 orang. Dan dijadwalkan akan dimulai awal Oktober 2016 (tergantung kesiapan LPTK penyelenggara) dan berakhir di awal Desember 2016.
4) Passing-grade kelulusan UTN PLPG mulai tahun 2016 adalah 80 (bandingkan tahun sebelumnya hanya 42). 
5) Sehubungan dengan tingginya syarat kelulusan UTN tsb, guru yang akan ikut PLPG tahun ini harap menyiapkan diri sebaik mungkin sebelum mengikuti PLPG. Pelajari kisi-kisi soal UTN dan bahan ajar PLPG yang dikeluarkan oleh Ditjen GTK (dapat diunduh dari laman sertifikasiguru.id). Jangan hanya mengandalkan belajar saat PLPG.
6) Pelaksanaan UTN pasca PLPG dilakukan secara online, dan hanya dilakukan 1 (satu) kali di tahun berjalan. Jika skor tdk mencapai 80, peserta dapat mengulang di tahun berikutnya sebanyak 4 kali kesempatan selama priode 2 (dua) tahun, tanpa perlu ikut PLPG lagi. UTN ulang secara online dilakukan tiap semester dan dapat diikuti di tempat terdekat yg ditunjuk oleh Ditjen GTK.
7) Guru yang telah memiliki Skor UKG 80 ke atas tidak perlu lagi mengikuti UTN tapi tetap harus mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan dan melulusi komponen penilaian PLPG lainnya (kehadiran, penilaian sejawat, peerteaching, dan UTL).
8) Guru yang belum menjadi peserta PLPG tahun ini agar lebih menyiapkan diri mengikuti UKG yang dilaksanakan oleh GTK tiap tahun, agar bisa mendapatkan skor yang tinggi. Targetkan agar bisa mencapai skor 80 ke atas agar tidak perlu lagi repot mengikuti UTN tatkala nanti mengikuti PLPG.
