The Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) has officially concluded its 1st National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of 2026, held from April 17–19, 2026. This event marked a significant milestone in formulating the organization’s strategic direction and key programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia.

In the aftermath of the Rakernas, the Central Board of IGI has swiftly moved to implement a range of priority programs that were agreed upon during the meeting. One of the most notable strategic initiatives is the strengthening of international collaboration through participation in global education forums.

The International Cooperation Division of IGI is scheduled to take part in EDUtech Asia 2026, which will be held in Singapore in November 2026.

The Vice Chairman of IGI’s Central Board, Jasmansyah, stated that IGI’s participation in this event forms part of a strategic collaboration program with the organizers of EDUtech Asia. He emphasized that EDUtech Asia is not merely a forum for discussion, but a platform where educational ideas are translated into concrete actions.

“EDUtech Asia is a space where dialogue turns into action, partnerships drive transformation, and educators are empowered to lead meaningful change,” he remarked.

In 2026, EDUtech Asia introduces a new paradigm in education—leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance human potential rather than replace it. A wide array of innovations will be showcased, including AI-powered teaching assistants, personalized learning models, responsible AI governance, and immersive learning environments.

Through its participation, IGI aims to open broader access for Indonesian educators to engage with global developments in educational technology, while also bringing best practices into the national education system.

Jasmansyah also encouraged teachers, school leaders, and education stakeholders to actively participate in the event. He noted that involvement in international forums such as EDUtech Asia offers invaluable insights, networking opportunities, and avenues for collaboration.

“Whether educators are building AI-integrated classrooms, leaders are driving institutional transformation, or EdTech practitioners are innovating solutions, all will gain significant benefits from this event,” he added.

Through this initiative, IGI reaffirms its commitment to advancing the transformation of Indonesia’s education system—making it more adaptive, innovative, and prepared to meet future challenges.
